College: Unlock Your Brilliance.
About You
Are you between 16 and 18 years old (or 19 to 25 with an EHCP)?

The Benefits
A Positive and Supportive Environment
We want you to feel at home, gain confidence, and acquire the skills you need to flourish. Our fantastic team includes experienced staff, a counsellor, and even emotional support dogs who are always there to lend a helping paw when you need it.
Flexible Learning and Personal Progression
Everyone enjoys a Friday off, right? Well, our Study Programmes run over 4 days, from Monday to Thursday, and you'll get an individual timetable tailored to your needs and goals. We understand that life can be challenging, but we're here to work with you even if your circumstances are difficult.
If you're eager to make the most of this opportunity or if you’ve got ten million questions, don't hesitate to reach out and discuss how we can work around your situation. We're here for you.
Prepare for Life beyond Education
At Lighthouse on The Marsh, we believe education should prepare you for the real world. Through our Level 1 Employability Course, we help you develop essential education, work, and life skills. You'll have the opportunity to improve or gain GCSE or Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English, while also working towards a Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills to support your chosen pathway.
But it’s more than just qualifications—we aim to broaden your horizons through classes, workshops, outings, volunteering, and other enriching activities. Our Nature Club, led by our SENCo and SEND Key Worker, encourages outdoor exploration to ease anxieties and spark conversation. We also offer a Breakfast Club and Games Club, giving you the chance to connect with other students and staff in a relaxed, informal setting outside of regular sessions.
Build Confidence and Ambition
Confidence and ambition go hand-in-hand, and we're here to support you every step of the way. We'll help you identify your goals and work towards achieving them. With work placement being a core focus of our programme, you'll have the chance to meet employers, attend taster sessions, visit colleges and universities, and experience the world of work through various placements. We'll also teach you essential skills such as interview techniques, CV writing, and how to apply for jobs. We're all about empowering you to succeed—whether you're aiming to gain more qualifications, secure an apprenticeship, volunteer, or find employment.
Don’t Just Take Our Word For It
College Student
“The staff actually get to know you and listen, whereas other colleges and schools just teach. I prefer it here over other colleges. I love the dogs and all the staff. It is a great place to learn but also socialise.”
College Student
“I feel safe here as the staff are nice to me. I feel better here because at my previous school there was so much pressure on me, and I felt unheard. I would recommend this college because it’s a nice environment.”
College Student
“I’ve gained more confidence here and I feel as if I’ve also gained some life skills. I love the staff for helping me out as much as they can and pushing me to my full potential. Some of my friends struggle with everyday school life and they would progress if they were here. ”
